Wandering Turnip takes us to the hauntingly beautiful Bay of Morecambe, a place with a tragic past. This stunning yet treacherous landscape was the site of a 2004 disaster that claimed the lives of 23 Chinese migrant workers, lost to the bay’s fast-moving tides while harvesting cockles.
In this moving video, Turnip reflects on the tragedy that deeply impacted him as a child. With the help of his drone, he explores the vast, otherworldly expanse of the bay, piecing together the story of that fateful night and shedding light on the larger issues of human trafficking and exploitation that came to light after the incident.
